On 8 November 2006, officers from the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) were called to the River Rock Casino in Richmond, B.C., where Denise Richards was making a movie. After seeing two photographers taking her picture from a nearby balcony, she confronted them, and threw their two laptop computers over the balcony. One laptop struck an 80-year-old woman in a wheelchair. The other laptop grazed the arm of a 91-year-old woman. Neither woman suffered serious injury, and no charges were pressed against Richards.

Demi Moore (born Demetria Gene Guynes on November 11, 1962) is an American actress. She became well-known after a string of 1980s teen-oriented movies, and became one of the best-known actresses in 1990s Hollywood.

Biography

Early life

Moore was born in Roswell, New Mexico, but spent much of her childhood and teenage years in the suburbs of Pittsburgh. As a child, she had a difficult and unstable home life. Her biological father, Charles Harmon, left her mother, Virginia, after a two-month marriage, before Moore was born. As a result, Moore had the surname of her stepfather, Danny Guynes, on her birth certificate. Danny Guynes, who committed suicide in 1980, frequently changed jobs and made the family move a total of forty times. Moore's parents were also alcoholics and often fought and beat each other. To make matters worse, operations on Moore's left eye during childhood required her to wear an eyepatch.
Moore's family settled in Los Angeles in 1976. When Moore was sixteen, her then-friend, actress Nastassja Kinski, persuaded her to drop out of Hollywood's Fairfax High School to become an actress.
Demi Moore was a founding "celebrity investor" in the Planet Hollywood chain of international theme restaurants (modeled after the Hard Rock Cafe and launched in New York on October 22, 1991) along with Bruce Willis, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger.

After quitting school, Moore went to work as a pin-up girl, modelled in Europe, and worked at a collection agency.
In the early 1980s, Moore posed for a series of softcore photographs featuring full frontal nudity. These photos went unnoticed until after she became a star, and were eventually published in a German magazine and later in North America. Moore's film debut was in the 1982 3-D science fiction/horror film, Parasite, which was a hit on the drive-in circuit, ultimately grossing $6 million.
However, Moore was not widely known until she played the part of Jackie Templeton on the ABC soap opera, General Hospital, from 1982 to 1983.
In the mid 1980s, she was mentioned as being a member of the Brat Pack and appeared in several youth-oriented films such as St. Elmo's Fire and About Last Night
For a time during the 1990s, Moore was the highest-paid actress in Hollywood. She had a string of box-office successes, including Ghost, A Few Good Men, Indecent Proposal, Disclosure and was the first actress to reach the $10 million salary mark. Among other films for which Moore was considered were Basic Instinct, Batman & Robin, Flashdance, Runaway Bride, and While You Were Sleeping. Moore's reputation suffered when the starring vehicles The Scarlet Letter, The Juror, Striptease, and G.I. Jane (a movie in which Moore shaved off all her long hair on camera, leaving her head totally bald) failed at the box office and garnered mixed reviews.

In August 1991, Moore appeared nude on the cover of Vanity Fair magazine while seven months pregnant with her daughter Scout LaRue, with enormous attendant publicity. The image was endlessly parodied (including by Spy magazine, which placed her then-husband Bruce Willis's head on her body), but also spawned honest imitators as other pregnant celebrities posed nude. Moore again appeared on the cover of Vanity Fair in August 1992, wearing only a body painted "suit".
After a break from her acting career, Moore returned to the screen as a former member of Charlie's Angels in the 2003 film .
In 2006 she appeared in Bobby which featured an all-star cast including her husband Ashton Kutcher although they did not appear in any scenes together.

Personal life

In August 1979, Moore began dating rock musician/songwriter Freddy Moore, whose last name she adopted; the two married in February 1980. The relationship lasted only 6 years (August 1979-August 1985). Moore began dating actor Emilio Estevez and began divorce proceedings in 1985, and the two were engaged until 1987. She also dated actor John Stamos during the time when the two worked together on General Hospital.
On November 21, 1987, Moore married actor Bruce Willis, after a highly publicized whirlwind romance (the two met in August of that year). The couple has three daughters, Rumer Glenn (born August 16, 1988), Scout LaRue (born July 20, 1991), and Tallulah Belle (born February 3, 1994). Willis and Moore announced their separation in June of 1998, and divorced in 2000.
Moore also became a staple of tabloids due to her romantic relationship with actor Ashton Kutcher, who is sixteen years her junior. Both would eventually spoof the public's fascination with their age difference during a sketch on the March 19, 2005 episode of Saturday Night Live. Kutcher, who served as guest host, brought Moore on stage while Moore was made up to appear like an old woman who constantly babied Kutcher. Moore and Kutcher were married on September 24, 2005 in a lavish, private ceremony conducted by a Kabbalah Centre rabbi and attended by about 100 close friends and family (Bruce Willis included).

In an interview with Ellen Degeneres, Demi Lovato admitted to going through painful experiences with bullying in the seventh grade.

Delta Lea Goodrem (born November 9, 1984) is a multi-ARIA Award winning Australian singer-songwriter, pianist and actress.
Signed to Sony at the age of 15, Goodrem rose to prominence in 2002 as a result of her role in the Australian television series Neighbours. She has become one of Australia's highest selling recording artists, her albums Innocent Eyes and Mistaken Identity both entering the Australian charts at number one with multi-platinum sales. Goodrem has to date, achieved seven number one singles and in mid-2005, embarked on The Visualise Tour, her debut concert tour of Australia. In 2003, at the age of 18, Goodrem was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a form of cancer. She has since made a full recovery.

Biography

Childhood and discovery

Goodrem was born on November 9, 1984 in Sydney, New South Wales and is the daughter of Denis and Lea Goodrem. She has a younger brother named Trent. Goodrem showed a strong interest in music and performing from a very young age. At five, she performed Olivia Newton John's "Hopelessly Devoted to You" for her father's fortieth birthday. She attended The Hills Grammar School in the Sydney suburb of Dural, though due to her school placing strong emphasis on sport (Goodrem taking part in numerous activities such as netball, running and swimming), music was primarily kept separate. At the age of seven, she appeared in an American commercial for the Galoob toy company, starring alongside fellow Australian performer Bec Cartwright. She began learning the piano at the age of ten, took up singing, dancing and acting lessons and appeared in numerous television commercials and shows. At twelve, she was signed as the Nesquik girl for four years. Goodrem also made small appearances in episodes of successful Australian shows Hey Dad...!, A Country Practice and Police Rescue. She saved up the money she earnt from these roles to go towards recording a demo CD.
At the age of thirteen, Goodrem recorded a demo CD with five songs she had written (as well the Australian national anthem) and sent the CD out to family and friends. A girlfriend of Goodrem's sent it to the Sydney Swans Football Club (of which Goodrem is a supporter) and they passed it onto another Swans fan, Glenn Wheatley, the manager behind successful Australian artists such as Little River Band and John Farnham. Interested to see if Goodrem had potential as a recording artist, Wheatley signed Goodrem an artist development deal with independent label, Empire Records. Between June 1999 to September 2000, Goodrem worked with producers Paul Higgins and Trevor Carter on thirteen tracks for an album called Delta, which saw "an ambitious 15-year-old keen to emulate the pop sound of the Spice Girls, Britney Spears and Mandy Moore". The album has yet to surface, Goodrem preventing its release years later via civil action in 2004.

Music career

2001-2003: Career launch and Innocent Eyes

At the age of fifteen, Goodrem landed a record deal with Sony and began work on an album of pop-dance songs with various producers and songwriters (including Mark Holden). In November 2001, at the age of sixteen, Goodrem's debut single "I Don't Care", written and produced by Steve Kipner (responsible for Christina Aguilera's "Genie in a Bottle") launched her professional singing career. The single was unsuccessful when it peak at #64 on the ARIA Singles chart and as a result, the album and proposed second single "A Year Ago Today" (for which a music video was created) were scrapped. The failure of "I Don't Care" allowed Goodrem and Sony to re-evaluate the future musical direction of her career. The following year, Goodrem joined the cast of Neighbours.

In November 2002, Goodrem released the first single from her debut album, "Born to Try". A drastic change from the bubblegum pop of her debut single, this piano-based ballad debuted at #3 on the ARIA Singles chart before climbing to #1, becoming the third highest selling single of 2002. In January 2003, follow up single, "Lost Without You", topped the charts for two weeks while cementing Goodrem's popularity amongst the general Australian public. In the UK, she released "Born to Try" where it debuted and peaked at #3.
Her debut album Innocent Eyes, a collection of light pop tracks and big ballads (most of which were either written or co-written by Goodrem), was released in March 2003, debuting at #1. The third single, the title track "Innocent Eyes", debuted at #2 and peaked at #1. Promotion for the single included a Melbourne instore in which Goodrem signed autographs for a record eight hours to an estimated crowd of 10,000 people. In the UK, "Lost Without You" debuted at #4 while the album debuted and peaked at #2, going on to sell over 750,000 copies. Following UK single, "Innocent Eyes" became another top ten. In July, it was announced that Goodrem had been diagnosed with cancer.
"Not Me, Not I" became Goodrem's fourth consecutive Australian #1, beating the previous effort of three #1's from Kylie Minogue's debut Kylie album. She also became the only international or Australian act in history to be credited as the performer and writer of four ARIA #1 hits. The music video for "Not Me, Not I" was recorded close after the announcement of her cancer diagnosis and was the last kind of work Goodrem would undertake before beginning treatment. In early October, it was announced that Goodrem would not renew her contract with Glenn Wheatley, Lea Goodrem replacing him as her manager. Later the same month, Goodrem won a staggering seven ARIA Awards including "Best Female Artist", surpassing Natalie Imbruglia's previous record of six awards in 1999. Too unwell to perform at the ceremony, former Savage Garden singer Darren Hayes performed a rendition of "Lost Without You" as a tribute to her, bringing an overwhelmed Goodrem to tears. The final Australian single and fifth #1 from Innocent Eyes, "Predictable" was released in December and featured a cover of John Lennon's "Happy Christmas (War Is Over)". A promo single of "Throw It Away" was released to the UK media early 2004. Although not comerically released, it was avaliable to download online.
In the first week of December 2003, Innocent Eyes broke an Australian record previously held by John Farnham's Whispering Jack (1986), staying at #1 for 25 consecutive weeks. It was the highest selling album in Australia of 2003. In total, Innocent Eyes spent 29 weeks at #1, tied with Neil Diamond's Hot August Night (1972), as the second longest charting number-one album in Australian history. Innocent Eyes has been certified 14x platinum in Australia alone, while the album has sold close to three million copies worldwide.

2004-2005: Mistaken Identity and The Visualise Tour

After announcing in late December 2003 that she was in remission, Goodrem began work on her second album. In October 2004, she released the first single, "Out of the Blue". The ballad, co-written with UK songwriter-producer Guy Chambers, was well received by the public, debuting at #1, certified platinum. Goodrem performed "Out of the Blue" for the first time at the 2004 ARIA Awards. In the UK, the single debuted at #9.
Goodrem's second album Mistaken Identity was released on November 7, 2004 and debuted at #1 in Australia, also charting in the UK, New Zealand, Germany and Switzerland. The album is noted for its darker lyrics and mature themes, many of the songs (most notably "Extraordinary Day") detailing the hardships of Goodrem's previous twelve months while undergoing cancer treatment. The album's second Australian single, the title track "Mistaken Identity", debuted and peaked at #7 in January 2005, breaking Goodrem's string of consecutive #1 singles. The track was not promoted by Goodrem as she busy in the UK, promoting her second UK single "Almost Here", a duet with Irish singer and former Westlife member Brian McFadden. The duet debuted at #3, her equal best, although no further UK singles were released from Mistaken Identity. In Australia, "Almost Here" debuted at #1 and was certified platinum, becoming Goodrem's seventh #1. In May 2005, the fourth single from Mistaken Identity, the up-tempo track "A Little Too Late", proved far less successful than Goodrem's previous efforts, debuting and peaking at #13.

In July 2005, Goodrem embarked on her first headline concert tour, The Visualise Tour. She began with a "preview show" in Newcastle, before heading to Perth, Adelaide, Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra. The tour came under criticism when tickets were put on sale for $99 Australian dollars ($199 for VIP tickets); higher than most international acts touring in Australia at the time and this led to initially slow sales. By the time the concerts were due to take place, many venues sold out after tickets were reduced to $60. Once the tour concluded, over 80,000 tickets had been bought in total making the The Visualise Tour one of Australia's highest selling local tours.
A fifth single from Mistaken Identity, the inspirational ballad "Be Strong" (written for the late cancer sufferer Belinda Emmett) was released in September 2005 as a digital-only single. The b-sides featured live tour performances of "Be Strong" and "Last Night on Earth" and at one stage of the download chart, all three songs made up the top three. The DVD was released in November 2005 and became Goodrem's second consectutive #1 DVD when it debuted on the ARIA DVD chart.

2005-present: Post-Mistaken Identity activities

In April 2005, Goodrem's international record contract was extended to the United States with Columbia Records, an imprint of Sony Music. She relocated herself in New York and starred in North American soap opera series North Shore in an attempt to break into the American market, performing her first US single "Lost Without You" on the show. Reports soon began to circulate that Columbia had issued an ultimatum with Goodrem, asking to drop mother Lea Goodrem as her manager.. The rumour was denied by both Goodrem and her mother, stating that Lea was to remain as Goodrem's manager in Australia, and that there had always been plans to hire a separate manager in the US. On June 28 2005, a new, re-recorded version of "Lost Without You" was released to digital download stores, such as iTunes, receiving early spins on Adult Contemporary radio stations across America. Goodrem attended the 2005 American Music Awards, winning the award for "Highest Selling Australian Artist". The single however, proved of only limited success, peaking at #18 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart, but failing to enter The Billboard Hot 100. There were plans to release a hybrid of her first two albums, entitled Born to Try, though after numerous delays, this now looks unlikely to occur. In an interview, Goodrem confirmed that she had put America on hold and instead wished to concentrate on her third studio album.
On March 15, 2006, Goodrem performed a brand new song "Together We Are One" at the MCG for the opening ceremony of the 2006 Commonwealth Games. Written by Goodrem, Brian McFadden and Guy Chambers especially for the ceremony, the performance saw Goodrem surrounded by fireworks in front of 80,000 spectators and up to 1.5 billion television viewers worldwide. Due to pressure from fans, "Together We Are One" was released as an Australian single in April and debuted at #2 on the ARIA Singles chart. The song was performed on American television by the final five contestants of American Idol. In June, Goodrem signed to Modest! Entertainment for her world-wide management in the lead up to the release of her third studio album, which is due for release in early to mid-2007.

In Los Angeles earlier this year, Goodrem recorded a duet with Tony Bennett on his song "Steppin' Out With My Baby" for the Australian edition of his album , released in September 2006. She also features on the new Westlife album The Love Album on a cover of "All Out of Love". Goodrem performed the song with Westlife on The X Factor on 18 November 2006. She is currently in L.A., writing and producing material for her third studio album.
In early December 2006, a song named "On My Own" was leaked onto the internet and was available for download on various websites. It talks of losing herself and is believed to have been written about her break up with Mark Philippoussis. It is also believe to have been recorded around the same time as Mistaken Identity but did not make the final cut.

Acting career

In 2002, Goodrem took up the role as shy school girl and aspiring singer Nina Tucker in the long-running Australian soap Neighbours. Like former Neighbours actresses turned pop singers, Kylie Minogue and Natalie Imbruglia, the show helped Goodrem launch her career as a singer. Her single "Born to Try" premiered on the show when Tucker's singing talents were discovered by her friend Connor O'Neill. Other key storylines involving Tucker include her love affair with Jack Scully as well as the relationship with her mother Trixie Tucker. Goodrem ceased work on the show when diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma in mid-2003, but following her recovery, made a brief return to the show. Goodrem's role scored her a Silver Logie for "Most Popular New Talent" at the 2003 Logie Awards and two other nominations at the 2004 Logie Awards. Since Neighbours, Goodrem has appeared in the last two episodes of short-lived American series, North Shore, playing a singer named Taylor Ward.
In March 2005, she starred in her first film role of Hating Alison Ashley, a movie based on the popular children's novel, Goodrem acting the title character). Despite a #4 debut on the Australian box office charts, the film performed poorly overall. Some critics accused Goodrem's performance of being too robotic and detached.

Personal life

Cancer

On July 8, 2003, at the age of 18, Goodrem was diagnosed with Hodgkin's Lymphoma, a form of cancer which attacks the body's immune system. As a result, she was forced to put all working commitments on hold while undertaking treatment for the disease. In an exclusive interview with the Australian Women's Weekly, Goodrem revealed that her body had been giving warning signs since 2002. Symptoms included a head to toe rash, fatigue, weight loss, night sweats and appearance of a lump on her neck. "I was doing sit-ups when I felt something pop in my neck. I reached down and I felt a small lump at the base of my throat. It wasn't sore, it wasn't visible, but I could feel it."As part of her treatment, Goodrem undertook chemotherapy, which resulted in the loss of her hair, and radiation therapy.
News of her diagnosis appeared on the front pages of newspapers and an outpour of support was shown by fans and the general public alike, Goodrem thanking them during The Visualise Tour for all the letters and well wishes she received. Reflecting on that period of her life, Goodrem says, "It's weird to see pictures of that time. In some ways the fact that I was so sick was so out there, and yet I kept it really private. No-one saw me on the days I was really sick...I was 18 when I was diagnosed and I had a number one album and single in the country. And in the UK, I was number two. It was such a bipolar year".

Relationships

Goodrem has to date been involved in three high-profile relationships. During her time on Neighbours, she was romantically linked with fellow cast member Blair McDonough. Goodrem's song "Not Me, Not I" is widely speculated to be written about their breakup. In 2004, while going through remission, Goodrem began a nine month relationship with Australian tennis player Mark Philippoussis. Goodrem's song "Out of the Blue" is widely assumed to be about their relationship. The couple began their relationship after meeting at a tennis tournament, where Goodrem thanked him for expressing support for her cancer recovery (Philippoussis' father had also battled Hodgkin's Lymphoma). , though he has denied the allegations.
On the Mistaken Identity album, Goodrem collaborated with Irish singer Brian McFadden on the duet "Almost Here". In early January 2005, reports suggested the pair were romantically engaged after being photographed together on a beach resort in South Africa, although both denied this.. A week later, the Sunday Mirror reported that McFadden had admitted the relationship. The couple underwent weeks of tabloid scrutiny, focusing particularly on the fallout of McFadden's marriage with former Atomic Kitten star Kerry Katona. Press speculation suggested that the pair had embarked on their affair before McFadden had separated with Katona. This was denied by both Goodrem and McFadden. There have been numerous rumours that McFadden and Goodrem have become engaged, but these have been denied. The couple's relationship faced further scrutinty in May 2006 when a newspaper claimed that Goodrem's mother had advised her to end her relationship with McFadden.

Charity work

Goodrem is a member of RADD (Recording Artists, Actors And Athletes Against Drink Driving), a group of celebrities using their position to rally, and raise awareness of the risks of drunk driving. She has recorded a message, which has aired on Australian radio, about the risks of drink driving.
Goodrem also uses her experience with cancer to raise awareness for other young people affected by the disease, helping to launch a UK web site specifically aimed at young teenagers affected, in mid 2005. She is a well-known ambassador for Research Australia's Thank You Day, which celebrates the country's health and medical researchers. She makes regular appearances at local charity events; on November 7 2005, Goodrem received a Thank You Day Celebrity Advocacy Award "in recognition of her efforts in raising funds and awareness for Australian medical research and charities." She has established the Delta Goodrem Leukaemia & Lymphoma Research Trust Fund, created to help raise funds for Hodgkin's patients. A percentage of all CDs, concert tickets and merchandise sold goes towards the charity.

Debra Lynn Messing (born August 15, 1968) is an Emmy Award-winning American actress. She is best known for portraying Grace Adler in Will & Grace.

Biography

Early life

Messing was born in the New York City borough of Brooklyn to American Jewish parents Brian Messing (a sales executive for a jewelry manufacturer) and Sandra (who has worked as a professional singer, banker, travel and real estate agent). When Messing was three, she moved with her parents and her older brother, Brett, to East Greenwich, a small town outside Providence, Rhode Island.
During her high school years, she acted (and sang) in a number of high school productions, including the starring role in the musical Annie" and "Fiddler On the Roof".
Messing took lessons in dance, singing, and acting. While her parents encouraged her dream of becoming an actress, they also urged her to complete a liberal arts education before deciding on acting as a career. Following their advice, she attended Brandeis University in Waltham, Massachusetts. During her junior year, she studied theater at the prestigious London-based British European Studio Group program, an experience that fueled her desire to act.
In 1990, after graduating summa cum laude from Brandeis with a bachelor's degree in theater arts, Messing gained admission to the elite Graduate Acting Program (which accepts only about 15 new students annually) at New York University, where she earned a master's degree in fine arts after three years.

Career

In 1993, Messing won praise for her acting in the pre-Broadway workshop production of Tony Kushner's much-lauded play . Consequently, she appeared in several episodes (running from 1994 to 1995) of the award-winning television series NYPD Blue.
In 1995, Messing made her film debut with a supporting role in A Walk in the Clouds, a love story directed by Alfonso Arau. This exposure led the Fox network to make her the co-star of the television sitcom, Ned and Stacey. The series lasted for two seasons, from 1995 to 1997. Messing appeared as Jerry Seinfeld's date in two episodes of the hit television show Seinfeld: "The Wait Out" in 1996 and "The Yada Yada" in 1997. Messing turned down a starring role in another television sitcom to appear in Donald Margulies's two-character play Collected Stories, which opened at the Off-Broadway Manhattan Theater Club in 1997.
In 1998, Messing had a lead role as the bio-anthropologist "Sloan Parker" on ABC's dramatic science fiction television series Prey. Meanwhile, Messing's agent had approached her with the pilot script for the television show Will & Grace. Messing was inclined to take some time off, but the pilot for Will & Grace intrigued her, and she received the role of Grace Adler, beating out Nicollette Sheridan (Knots Landing, Desperate Housewives), who later guest starred on the show as a romantic rival of Grace's. Will & Grace became a big ratings success, and Messing gained renown. In 2002, she was named one of the "50 Most Beautiful People in the World" by People Magazine. TV Guide picked her as its "Best Dressed Woman" in 2003.
Messing was personally picked by director Woody Allen for a small role in his 1998 film Celebrity. Her big-screen roles since include a happily married but ill-fated wife in the supernatural thriller The Mothman Prophecies (2002) and a supporting role in Along Came Polly (2004).
The Wedding Date (2005) was Messing's first leading role in a high-profile film. It received mixed reviews but performed fairly well at the box office.
Messing was featured as a judge on the season finale of the second season of Bravo's hit reality show, Project Runway.

Personal life

Messing met her husband, Daniel Zelman (an actor and screenwriter), on their first day as graduate students at NYU. The two were married on September 3, 2000, and live in Los Angeles, California. On April 7, 2004, Messing gave birth to their son, Roman Walker Zelman.

Messing has also stated that she intends to move back to New York, and with her Will & Grace commitments now over and rumors of a Broadway play in fall 2006, she will likely be returning soon.

Minogue rose to prominence in the early 1980s as a result of her role in the Australian television talent show Young Talent Time, before commencing her career as a pop singer in the early 1990s. Childhood and beginning

Dannii Minogue was born in Melbourne, Australia, to an Australian father, Ron Minogue, and a Welsh-born mother, Carol Jones who had immigrated as a child from Maesteg, Wales in 1955 to Townsville, Queensland. Minogue is the youngest of three children; her sister Kylie Minogue is a dance-pop singer and actress, and her older brother, Brendan, is a news cameraman in Australia.
Minogue began her career as a child on Australian television, and from the age of seven, Minogue appeared in soap operas such as Skyways and The Sullivans without attracting much attention. In 1979 she was invited to be a regular performer on the weekly music program Young Talent Time, quickly becoming one of the most popular and highest profile members in the show’s twenty year history. Minogue recorded on two albums for the show which featured her first solo recordings including a cover version of the Madonna hit "Material Girl". Minogue left Young Talent Time in 1988 to further her career as an actress, appearing as teen rebel tomboy Emma Jackson on the hit soap opera Home and Away, a role especially written for her. Recording and performing career

Mushroom Records: 1990 - 1997

After recording and performing with the television show Young Talent Time, Minogue signed a recording contract with Mushroom Records in January 1989. Minogue traveled to New York City to work with producers Alvin Moody and Vincent Bell, writing and recording songs for her debut album. Her first album Dannii (1990), a collection of dance songs, reached number twenty-four on the Australian albums chart. Outside Australia it was released under the title Love and Kisses (1991) and reached number eight on the UK album charts. Accusations of racism

In 2002, Minogue did an interview with Britain’s GQ magazine. In the interview she said that French National Front leader Jean-Marie Le Pen had "struck a chord with people", and that "even the street signs Australia are written in Asian now!"
This was presented as if Minogue sided with Le Pen and was attacking asylum seekers and immigrants, although Minogue says that her remarks were intended the opposite way, expressing horror at the popularity of Le Pen and expressing praise for the way Australia has handled multi-culturalism. She says she considered suing the journalist for misconstruing her remarks.

Gay icon

Minogue is regarded as a gay icon, which she embraces and credits for much of her success. "Gays have always been a part of my music," says Minogue. "I have never jumped on the pink bandwagon to increase my popularity. It just came naturally." Minogue believes that the gay community has connected with her because her music is about "having fun and going out dancing", which Minogue says gay culture loves to do. She is a strong supporter of social equality for the gay community, but believes that the struggle for equal right such as marriage is not a black and white issue. "Some kind of certificate of commitment is important. It doesn’t have to be a marriage," said Minogue. "Something official that is accepted by all government bodies would be sufficient. As long as you can have a special day together that is recognized by the government is what counts.". Dannii performed at London Gay Pride and then at London's G.A.Y a few years before her sister had, apparently recommending Kylie appear at G.A.Y due to the fantastic crowd response.

Puss 'N Boots incident

In February of 2006, Minogue, while at the Puss 'N Boots strip club, allegedly engaged in sexually explicit, and possibly illegal, activities with one of the establishment's lap dancers. Surveillance tape stills made their way to the internet, where the pictures allegedly show Minogue kissing and fondling the dancer, breaking the club’s strict "no-touching" rules, and it later appears that the dancer performs oral sex on Minogue. A spokesman for Minogue, downplayed the event as a "harmless girls' night out," according to the British tabloid The Sun. Notably, these stills were released six months after the original event occurred, leading to accusations of a publicity push in the weeks leading up to a new single release.

Awareness campaigns and charity

In 2004 Minogue posed nude with just a long red ribbon covering her body to help the fight against AIDS. She is an ambassador for the Terence Higgins Trust, which raises awareness about the disease. Personal experiences made Minogue want to educate people about AIDS since she has known many people within the entertainment industry and close personal friends who have been affected by the disease. Minogue's main mission with the trust is to "break down myths", such as that AIDS is a gay disease saying, "HIV doesn't discriminate - somewhere in their minds young people still think it is a gay disease."
She has also been a long-time supporter of breast cancer research. In 2003 she put her support behind the Funny Women charity, which included comedy acts to raise awareness and money for breast cancer research, as well as raising awareness of other issues such as domestic violence.
In addition to her work with the Terence Higgins Trust, Minogue also supports The Lighthouse Foundation (another AIDS charity) and the Young Homeless.

Early life

Harris was born Elta Danneel Graul in Lafayette, LA and was raised in the small town of Eunice. Harris was named after her great-grandmother. Her first name, Elta, is a French name, but she always goes by her middle name. The name "Danneel" was inspired by Danneel Street in New Orleans: "Danneel is a street in New Orleans. It's a school, a park and a street. I think my mother must have driven by it every day for work when we used to live in New Orleans." Her cousin is actress Mary Lou. She moved to Los Angeles and continued her acting training with John Homa, Calmeson and Calmeson, and Craig Wargo.

Career

Before she landed her first acting role, Harris worked as a model with such companies as Big Sexy Hair and Juicy Jeans. She first appeared in a television commercial. Danica Patrick (born March 25, 1982 in Beloit, Wisconsin) is an American auto racing driver competing in the IndyCar Series. She was raised in Roscoe, Illinois. Patrick was named the Rookie of the Year for both the 2005 Indianapolis 500 and the 2005 IndyCar Series season. In May 2006, she published her autobiography, Danica: Crossing the Line. With her win in the 2008 Indy Japan 300, Patrick became the first woman to win an Indy car race.

Early racing career

Danica Patrick began go-karting in 1992 at Sugar River Raceway outside of Brodhead, Wisconsin and went on to win several national championships. She moved to England at the age of 16 in order to advance her racing career. Focusing primarily on road racing, Patrick raced in several developmental open-wheel series while in Europe, including Formula Ford and Formula Vauxhall. Patrick earned a second-place finish in England's extremely competitive Formula Ford Festival, the highest-ever finish by either a woman or an American in the event.
In 2002, Patrick signed a multi-year deal to race for the team of Bobby Rahal. After making several starts in the Barber Dodge Pro Series, she moved to the Toyota Atlantic Championship for 2003. Driving for Rahal Letterman Racing with sponsorship from Argent, Patrick achieved moderate success in the Toyota Atlantic series. During her time in Atlantics, she won one pole and was a consistent podium finisher (top three); however, she never won a race. In 2004, Patrick finished third in the Championship.
As well as participating in Atlantics, Patrick also made an appearance in the American Le Mans Series, driving for the Prodrive Ferrari team to tenth place at the 2003 Grand Prix of Atlanta. She would attempt sports cars later in her career with a run at the Rolex 24 at Daytona in 2006.

IRL IndyCar Series

2005

After the 2004 racing season, Rahal Letterman Racing officially announced that Patrick would drive in the IRL IndyCar Series for 2005.

On May 29, 2005, Patrick became only the fourth woman to compete in the Indianapolis 500, following Janet Guthrie, Lyn St. James and Sarah Fisher. After posting the fastest practice speed of the month during the morning practice session on the first day of qualifications (May 15), she made an error in the first turn of her first qualifying lap, and failed to capture the pole position, which instead went to Tony Kanaan. Patrick's fourth starting position, however, was still the highest ever attained for the race by a female driver.
Patrick became the first female driver to lead the race at Indianapolis, first when acquiring it for a lap near the mark while cycling through pit stops, and late in the race when she stayed out one lap longer than her rivals during a set of green-flag pit stops. Patrick overcame two crucial errors to finish fourth in the race, the same position in which she started: Patrick's car stalled in the pits about halfway through the race, dropping her to the middle of the field; and shortly after reclaiming a spot in the top 10, Patrick spun on a caution period just before an intended green flag leading to a four car accident. The accident caused damage to Patrick's car that was limited to the nose and front wing. Her pit crew promptly made repairs, and due to the subsequent yellow, Patrick was able to rejoin the field having lost only one position. When the leaders pitted for fuel on lap 172, Patrick stayed out to take the lead. On lap 194, eventual race winner and 2005 series champion Dan Wheldon passed her as she was forced to slow in order to conserve fuel. Patrick was subsequently passed by both Bryan Herta and her teammate Vitor Meira. Patrick's fourth place was the highest ever finish for a female driver at the Indy 500, besting the previous record of ninth set by Janet Guthrie in 1978. Patrick led 19 laps overall.
On July 2, 2005, Patrick won her first pole position, leading a 1-2-3 sweep by Rahal Letterman Racing at Kansas Speedway. She became the second woman to accomplish this feat in the IndyCar Series, the first being Sarah Fisher in 2002 at Kentucky Speedway. On August 13, 2005, she won her second pole at Kentucky Speedway, although this time, rain prematurely ended qualifying and position was determined by speeds achieved during practice. She took a third pole at Chicagoland Speedway which tied her with Tomas Scheckter's record for number of pole positions earned in a rookie season.
In 2005, Patrick finished 12th in the IndyCar Series championship, with 325 points. She was named Rookie of the Year for both the 2005 Indianapolis 500 and the 2005 IndyCar Series season.
During the offseason following the 2005 racing year, Patrick competed in the Rolex 24 at Daytona along with co-driver Rusty Wallace in January 2006.

2006

Patrick competed in the 2006 IndyCar Series season giving her another chance at qualifying and racing in the Indianapolis 500. In the first race of the season, the Toyota Indy 300 at Homestead, Patrick qualified third behind the Penske Racing teammates of Helio Castroneves and Sam Hornish, Jr. However, tragedy struck as RLR teammate Paul Dana was killed in a crash during practice the morning of the race. Patrick and Buddy Rice withdrew from the race immediately. The two resumed their 2006 IndyCar campaign with the second race of the year at St. Petersburg
At the Indy 500, Patrick started eighth and finished eighth. After Watkins Glen, RLR switched to the Dallara chassis and the team struggled to adapt. Patrick struggled to remain competitive, but her fourth place finishes at Nashville and Milwaukee tied her career best IndyCar finishes. At Michigan, Patrick's car ran out of fuel with three laps to go and she fell to 17th. She rebounded at Kentucky and Infineon to finish 8th in both races.
In her final race with RLR at Chicagoland, Patrick recorded a 12th place finish and a 9th place finish in the IndyCar Series Championship point standings, besting her 12th place points finish as a rookie.
In November, the March of Dimes awarded her the title of Sportswoman of the Year in celebration of her dedication and success.

2007

On July 25, 2006, Patrick announced she had signed a deal to drive for Andretti Green Racing, replacing Bryan Herta in the number 7 Dallara Honda car beginning in 2007. Patrick's car is sponsored by Motorola, XM radio and Go Daddy.
In Patrick's first race with AGR at Homestead on March 24 she finished 14th after crashing into the pit wall on lap 154. She finished 8th at St. Pete and 11th at Japan. At Kansas she had her best finish of the year at that point, finishing 7th.
In April 2007, Patrick launched her official fan club The Danica Maniacs to help foster greater interaction between her and her fans.
Patrick ended up starting and finishing eighth in the 91st running of the Indianapolis 500. She ran as high as 2nd to Tony Kanaan after the mid-race rain delay. After a pit stop, she dropped back in the field. Patrick was working her way back to the front until the race was ended under the caution caused by Marco Andretti's accident due to the subsequent rain on lap 166.
At Milwaukee, Patrick started second to last but moved up quickly to 5th before contact with Dan Wheldon. Patrick managed to save the car from hitting anything but the wreck caused aerodynamic damage. She used a timely caution to get back on the lead lap and finish 8th. After the race she and Wheldon had a heated exchange after she tried to confront him about the wreck.
Following the incident at Milwaukee, Patrick rebounded with a career night at Texas in the Bombardier Learjet 550. She ran with the lead pack throughout the entire race and led a race for the first time since 2005. She finished less than a second behind winner Sam Hornish, Jr., a then career-best third, her first "podium" finish.
Her good fortune would only be temporary as she was involved in one of the several crashes at Iowa to finish 13th. She would however rebound at Richmond to run in the top 10 all night before finishing 6th.
She followed that up with an 11th place finish at Watkins Glen before running in the top 5 all day and finishing 3rd at Nashville. At Mid-Ohio she finished 5th (her best career road course finish) despite being involved in a lap 1 accident that sent her into the grass briefly.
Patrick continued to have bad luck at Michigan International Speedway as previous years have seen Patrick retire from the race early due to fuel and other troubles. At the 2007 running, a flat tire in the late portion of the race forced Patrick to pit and dropped her to a 7th place finish.
Her terrible luck would continue at Kentucky as she ran in the lead group all night and appeared headed towards another podium finish when she spun out exiting pit road with less than 50 laps to go. After restarting from that spin, a rear tire on Patrick's car blew leading to a crash and forcing her to retire from the race.
Her luck would get a little better at Infineon as she ran in the top 10 and finished 6th. However a series of slow pit stops kept her from what could have been an even better finish.
At Belle Isle, Patrick started 11th and was involved in two accidents from which she was able to restart without damage, eventually driving to the front and leading 9 laps of the race before falling back after having to pit. On the final lap, while Patrick was running in 5th, Buddy Rice, Scott Dixon and teammate Dario Franchitti were involved in an accident immediately in front of her. Patrick was able to avoid the wreck and finish in second place, a career-high in the IndyCar Series and tying her with Dreyer & Reinbold Racing driver Sarah Fisher for best finish in IndyCar racing by a female.
At the season finale in Chicagoland Speedway, Patrick ran most of the race in the top 6, but had to make a pit stop for fuel with 7 laps to go. When entering pit lane, Patrick spun-out but avoided damage to her car. With assistance from her pit crew, Patrick was able to refire the engine, make a complete pit stop and reenter the race, finishing 11th overall.
For the 2007 season as a whole, Patrick scored her first three career podium finishes to finish with 4 top 5's and 11 top 10's while leading 17 laps on the season. She also scored her career best championship points finish of 7th with 424 points.

2008

To begin the 2008 season, her second with AGR, Patrick scored her best career Homestead finish of 6th. She followed that up with another top 10 by scoring a 10th place finish at St. Petersburg.
Patrick won at Twin Ring Motegi in the Indy Japan 300 on April 20, 2008, becoming the first woman to win an IndyCar race,
A mechanical problem late in the race RoadRunner Turbo 300 at Kansas Speedway forced Patrick to retire early from the race.
During practice for the 2008 Indianapolis 500, Patrick's car struck a member of Dale Coyne Racing's pit crew when she came into the pits on May 9th. During the Indianapolis 500 on May 25, 2008, she retired from the race early after a collision in the pitlane. As Ryan Briscoe exited his pitbox the two cars collided, damaging Patrick's left rear suspension and eliminating both from the race. After being pushed back to her own pit, Patrick left her car and headed down pit road towards Briscoe's pit at which point IMS security intervened, preventing an on-track confrontation.
Following Indy, Patrick finished 9th at Milwaukee and 10th at Texas, with both races ending under yellow flag conditions. At Iowa and Richmond she stayed out of the many crashes during these races and finished 6th in each event.
Patrick will test for Formula One team Honda in November 2008.

Controversy

Prior to her win in Motegi, the most notable criticism of Patrick was that she had not won a race in three years of IRL competition and still garnered significant media attention. She is frequently promoted in mainstream and motorsport media, and has been compared to female athletes like Anna Kournikova for her apparent willingness to be marketed on her looks, examples being her appearance in FHM in April 2003 and Sports Illustrated in June 2005 and February 2008.
Before 2008, some racing journalists, IndyCar fans, and other drivers claimed that Patrick's relatively low body weight gave her an advantage in the IndyCar series, which had a strict minimum weight set for the cars but which did not account for the driver's own weight. Patrick's height is By comparison, the IRL's tallest driver in 2008 is IRL President Brian Barnhart thinks the advantage is exaggerated, telling Dave Caldwell for The New York Times that Patrick's weight "had a ... minimal effect on the competition." With the IRL-Champ Car unification prior to the 2008 racing season, the rules were revised to define the minimum weight of the car as including the driver.
Several male drivers have made negative comments about Patrick's ability, as a woman, to race successfully. In May 2006, after an appearance on ESPN SportsCenter's Budweiser Hot Seat, Patrick made comments that ruffled the feathers of former NASCAR drivers. Former driver Richard Petty responded, in a separate interview, by stating, "I just don't think it's a sport for women, and so far, it's proved out. It's really not. It's good for them to come in. It gives us a lot of publicity, it gives them publicity. But as far as being a real true racer, making a living out of it, it's kind of tough." After Patrick's IRL win, she was praised by many drivers. NASCAR driver and former IRL champion Tony Stewart, for example, said "I think obviously she's got talent; she's been successful in every form of racing she's been in so far and I don't see why she wouldn't be successful here NASCAR." Bob Margolis of Yahoo! Sports criticized Patrick for her actions after being taken out of the 2008 Indianapolis 500 after a pit road collision with Ryan Briscoe, writing that "Patrick’s drama queen theatrics have worn thin."

Patrick has hosted several TV shows on Spike TV, including the "Powerblock", and she was featured in the 2005 documentary Girl Racers. On the August 23, 2007 episode of Diggnation, hosts Alex Albrecht and Kevin Rose shot live at Infineon Raceway, where they were treated to a lap around the track in the IndyCar Safety Car driven by Patrick. On April 24, 2008, Patrick was a guest on the Late Show with David Letterman and Late Night With Conan O'Brien on April 25, 2008.
Patrick was featured on the cover of the June 6, 2005 issue of Sports Illustrated, making her the first Indianapolis 500 driver on the cover since Al Unser, in victory lane, following his upset fourth victory in 1987. After her participation in the 2005 Indianapolis 500, she was asked by Playboy to have her pictures taken to be published in a future edition of its magazine. She declined the offer, but she did participate in a "20 Questions" interview with Jason Buhrmester for the magazine's July 2007 issue. Career

A graduate of the Sylvia Young Theatre School, she was discovered by Pet Shop Boys manager Tom Watkins, who put her in his female Bros concept, Faith Hope and Charity, signed to the WEA record company. However the band was not successful and Behr moved into television production.
At the age of sixteen she was signed to present the late night Channel 4 music show The Word, which she was involved with for five years. She went on to present over 30 TV shows, including The Big Breakfast,"Hotel Babylon", Ice Warriors, and in 2002 The Saturday Show for the BBC.
After numerous presenting jobs for shows in the United States, Behr decided to move permanently to Hollywood to begin presenting "Extra" for NBC. Dayanara Torres Delgado (born on October 28, 1974 in San Juan, Puerto Rico) is a Puerto Rican actress, singer, model and former Miss Universe.

At age 17, Torres was approached while walking through the Plaza de Toa Alta in her hometown and was subsequently invited to represent Toa Alta in the annual Miss Puerto Rico Pageant. She won the pageant and the rights to represent Puerto Rico at the 1993 Miss Universe pageant. Previously in 1992, she had participated in the Miss International pageant, where she placed among the semi-finalists, and placed second in the Queen of the World contest.

The Miss Universe pageant was held in Mexico City in May 21, 1993 and Torres won the crown. Torres's victory in the pageant caused some controversy because it was claimed she was still a minor. However, Torres had turned 18 several months before the contest. Her victory also raised some eyebrows as she won neither the preliminary round nor the semifinals. Torres anara was received in Puerto Rico with a massive parade.

During and after her reign, she became an ambassador of UNICEF, traveling through Asia and Latin America in support of the organization. She even created the Dayanara Torres Foundation which provided scholarships to poor students in Puerto Rico and the Philippines. In 1994 she went to Manila to crown the new Miss Universe. During the ceremony, she sang "A Whole New World" as a duet with Peabo Bryson.

After the 1994 Miss Universe pageant, Dayanara Torresreceived offers to endorse products, appear on television programs, and act in movies. She lived in the Philippines for five years, becoming a celebrity in the country. She also appeared in more than 10 movies, including a film with Filipino actor and singer Gary Valenciano called "Hataw Na." During that time, she also filmed Linda Sara, a Puerto Rican film directed by Jacobo Morales where she was paired with fellow Puerto Rican singer, Chayanne. The film was released in 1994. She returned to Puerto Rico in 1998 and released her first album (and only one, as of now) called Antifaz. It reached the top of the Billboard charts through Latin America and the Philippines. Dayanara Torres married singer Marc Anthony on 9 May 2000 in Las Vegas. They have two sons, Christian Anthony Muñiz (5 February 2001) and Ryan Anthony Muñiz (16 August 2003). Kagan grew up in Beverly Hills. She is a 1981 graduate of Beverly Hills High School and a 1985 graduate of Stanford University, where she double majored in American Studies and Communication.

After graduating from Stanford, Kagan sent out hundreds of demo tapes. Kagan was hired for an on-air job at a Santa Barbara television station, KEYT-TV. Kagan's next move was to a general assignment reporting position at KTVK in Phoenix. Wanting to do something other than report typical local news stories each week day, she took on additional duties reporting sports news during the weekend.

After KTVK did not renew Kagan's contract , Jim Walton, the head of CNN/SI, hired Kagan as an anchor and a news reporter. She went on to cover events including the Super Bowl, the NBA Playoffs, and international figure skating championships. Kagan was later hired by CNN's news division and as a news anchor and a reporter. She served as host of People in the News when that show debuted.

Since becoming a CNN news anchor, Kagan reported on presidential and mid-term elections. She reported on-site from the Middle East during the second Gulf War and the Washington, D.C. sniper attack investigation. Kagan traveled to Africa with musician Bono where she reported on AIDS and famine for all of the CNN networks. While in Africa, Kagan maintained a daily blog on CNN.com of her reports and experiences. She was stripped of her title of Miss Great Britain 2006 after posing for nude pictures featured in the December 2006 of Playboy magazine, and her tabloid-alleged affair with one of the judges, her footballer boyfriend at that time Teddy Sheringham. As a participant in the 2007 series of Celebrity Big Brother, Lloyd, along with others, was accused of using bullying tactics and making racist comments directed against the Indian actress Shilpa Shetty. According to reports from the tabloid News of the World, Sheringham has decided to end his relationship with Lloyd as a result of her appearance on Celebrity Big Brother.

Danielle Lloyd was born in Penny Lane, Liverpool in 1983. Her parents, Jackie and Arthur Lloyd, work as a bank manager and an engineer, respectively. At the age of 3 months, Lloyd contracted whooping cough, resulting in damage to her lungs. This led to her developing asthma.

Lloyd made a memorable appearance on BBC One's Test the Nation. When asked "Who was Winston Churchill - a rapper, US President, the PM or King?", Lloyd answered "Wasn't he the first black president of America? There's a statue of him near me - that's black."

Lloyd was the second housemate to enter the Big Brother House, and had amongst her possessions a blue teddy bear doused in Sheringham's aftershave.

Lloyd garnered significant negative publicity when thousands of complaints were filed with Ofcom after she, Jade Goody and Jo O'Meara, dubbed "The Witches (or Bitches) of Elstree" were accused of bullying and making racist remarks towards their fellow house mate, Bollywood star Shilpa Shetty.

This behaviour also created an international outcry gaining heavy coverage in the Indian media. Gordon Brown, the British Chancellor of the Exchequer visiting India at the time, condemned the programme on the grounds that he is against anything which might damage the perception that the United Kingdom is a country of tolerance. In a statement on January 17 Channel 4 defended the programme against charges "of overt racism or racial abuse".

Lloyd's aunt directly accused her of racism, adding "It was disgusting the way Danielle treated Shilpa. I'm surprised Big Brother didn't throw her out of the house."

A newspaper interview made before Celebrity Big Brother, from November 2006, revealed Lloyd's anti-immigration views: "If I was (a politician), I'd get more people into work and stop people coming into the country. There's so many people who come into England because they know they can get benefits. People who already live here should get the jobs".

Lloyd’s mother said in the News of the World that her family has been “destroyed” by the racist row: "Danielle is at the start of her career and facing ruin because of a TV show that she thought was going to be entertaining and fun. Everything's been taken away from her as well. It has destroyed the family. I'm regretting she went in. Danielle has got a lot of questions to answer when she gets out." She denied her daughter was a racist, claiming: "She will be distraught but she's got to take responsibility. She's been stupid and naive and she's guilty of that (but) I know she didn't mean any racial connotations when she told Shilpa to go home. Danielle's been brought up amongst family friends of all different races. I swear she isn't racist."

Danielle has agreed in an attempt to revive her popularity to go on a 'date' with a competition winner. The Daily Star in promoting the article discusses how she wears 'plunging vest top and miniskirt.' when on a date and will willingly attend at any public house of the entrant's choice.

Dohnyale "Deni" Sharon Hines (born September 4, 1970 in Sydney, Australia) is an Australian R&B singer, and is the daughter of singer Marcia Hines.

Hines released her first single with the Australian band Rockmelons with the a cover version of the Bill Withers 1971 hit "Ain't No Sunshine". She then went to release solo material with the top ten single "It's Alright" and the top twenty album Imagination (1996) which clocked in sales over 2.5 million copies worldwide. Her latest album is titled Water for Chocolate which was released on August 19, 2006 and features the singles "Water for Chocolate", "Son of a Preacher Man" and "5 Days of Rain".

Deni Hines grew up in Australia and was inspired by her mother's success as a singer to follow a career in show business. She was discovered by a friend when she was singing to the radio and then was encouraged to pursue singing as a career. Her earliest employment was as a backing vocalist for such artists as Kylie Minogue (her Rhythm of Love Tour, Australia and Far East 1991), Jimmy Barnes, Wa Wa Nee and Peter Blakeley before she was approached by the band Rockmelons to provide vocals for several of their songs. The first song that Hines released with the Rockmelons collaboration was a cover version of the Bill Withers 70's hit "Ain't No Sunshine" in 1991. After three hit singles with the Rockmelons, Hines was signed to Mushroom Records and released her first solo single "It's Alright" in 1995. It was a contemporary dance track that contrasted sharply with her earlier Rockmelons performances, and it became one of the year's biggest hits in Australia charting at number four on the Australian ARIA Singles Charts and winning an ARIA Award award for "Breakthrough Artist - Single". "Imagination", the second song released solo by Hines was released at the beginning of 1996 and was not as successful as "It's Alright" only peaking at number thirty-seven. With two songs released from the album, Hines released her debut album Imagination on May 25, 1996 and became a hit, charting at number fifteen on the Australia ARIA Albums Chart and was nominated for two ARIA Awards; "Breakthrough Artist - Album" and "Best Female Artist". In order to properly promote her album properly, Hines moved to the UK in 1997 and re-issued her album under the title Pay Attention and toured withLighthouse Family and Earth, Wind & Fire. "It's Alright" was released in the United Kingdom in 1997 and was received well peaking at number thirty-five on the singles chart. The track also managed to peak at number twenty-two in France. Further hits such as "I Like the Way", "Joy" and "Delicious" followed, however, her career quickly lost its impetus after her album Pay Attention failed to impact the charts. In 1998, Hines cracked the U.S. market on the dance charts with "Joy" and "I Like the Way" both peaking in the top twenty of the U.S. Billboard Hot Dance Music/Club Play charts. Hines released an album of remixed songs from her Imagination and Pay Attention albums on July 14, 1998, titled Remix Your Imagination. This album failed to break into any charts around the world but the song "Dream Your Dream" from the album managed to chart in Japan.

The show soon became the channel's most popular show and even with Daniela's ups-and-downs, it's still the highest-rated show on the channel.

After getting engaged in 2004, Cicarelli and Ronaldo planned on marrying at the Château de Chantilly on February 14, 2005. At the party Cicarelli expelled Brazilian model Caroline Bittencourt from the place. The episode was reported in the French and Brazilian media. Months later Cicarelli suffered a miscarriage. On May 12, 2005 the couple announced they had separated. The couple's breakup after 86 days of "marriage" was featured on the covers of many tabloids and magazines.

MTV's response was quick (after receiving more than eighty thousand e-mails protesting), with a note on its website as well as regular institutional inserts on its programming, claiming that while supporting the users' manifest, it refused to acknowledge the validity of the effort, claiming it as unreasonable as the original censorship. Also, it claimed the censorship from the decision wasn't from Cicarelli, but from her boyfriend instead, going even further, stating that MTV nor Cicarelli ever prosecuted any website for any reason.

Later research from Conjur, a legal website denied these claims, which Cicarelli also failed to acknowledge on separate interviews on Jornal da Globo (TV) and Folha de São Paulo] (Newspaper). MTV stopped its institutional message on TV, and shortly after removed their original note from the website.

A parody of the video was made by the Pânico na TV, a controversial Brazilian nationwide broadcasted program by Rede TV!. Also the health secretary of the state of Rio Grande do Sul has made a parody with the goal of educate about the dengue fever, a virus which can by hosted by the Aedes aegypti, a mosquito specie found at the state, but yet not infected in that state. The agency's claims that they want to take advantage of the viral marketing.

In June 2007, a Brazilian judge dismissed Cicarelli's claims, indicating that as the sex took place in public, Cicarelli had no expectation of privacy and so acted in bad faith in trying to get the video removed as an invasion of her privacy. The model was ordered to pay court costs and legal costs and R$10,000 to each defendant.

Bell is the daughter of an Iranian mother and Scottish father. Her parents divorced, and then she and her mother moved to Los Angeles, California, when she was three years old. He spent the next several years working his way through several minor league teams: 1992- Bellingham ("A" level = 7-3, 2.42 - 13 starts), 1993 - Riverside ("A+" level, 12-9, 5.26, 26 starts), 1994- Jacksonville ("AA" level, 7-10, 4.94, 26 starts), 1995- Port City ("AA" level, 1-6, 6.08, 10 starts), 1996- Tacoma ("AAA" level, 6-9, 4.54, 16 starts).

Lowe made his Major League debut on April 26 1997, working 3 2/3 innings in relief against the Toronto Blue Jays. He made his first major league start on May 27, 1997 against the Minnesota Twins, giving up four runs in 5 innings. His first career win came on June 6 against the Detroit Tigers, pitching 5 1/3 innings and giving up 3 runs in the Mariners 6-3 victory.

Seattle, however, was desperate for immediate bullpen help and packaged Lowe and catcher Jason Varitek into a deal with the Boston Red Sox for Heathcliff Slocumb. The Mariners' willingness to trade Lowe may have stemmed from his involvement in an incident earlier that year in Federal Way, Washington. Lowe was charged with fourth-degree domestic violence by King County police after his girlfriend claimed that he struck her. Lowe was released on $1,000 bond the next day, and he allegedly violated a no-contact order by returning to her home shortly after his release.

Lowe compiled a 5-15 record over his first two seasons, during which he split time starting and relieving, but came into his own in 1999 after being transferred into the closer's role, finishing the season with 15 saves and a 2.63 ERA.

Lowe had his best season as a closer in 2000 when he led the American League with 42 saves. He was regarded as an unconventional closer, however, as he didn't overwhelm hitters. As a result, despite 24 saves early in the 2001 season, Lowe lost the closer's job at the trading deadline, July 31, when Boston acquired star closer Ugueth Urbina from the Montreal Expos. Lowe was left in limbo, forced to take various setup jobs in the bullpen.

In 2002, Lowe moved back into the starting rotation, a move which paid off immediately. He posted a 21-8 record, a 2.58 ERA, and finished 3rd in Cy Young Award voting behind Barry Zito and teammate Pedro Martinez. Lowe also no-hit the Tampa Bay Devil Rays at Fenway Park on April 27 that year, the first no-hitter pitched in that stadium since Dave Morehead's gem in 1965.

Lowe struggled through much of the 2003 season but, boosted by the strength of Boston's thunderous offense, posted a 17-7 record despite a 4.47 ERA. In 2004 he finished 14-12 with a 5.42 ERA in 33 starts, spending part of the season demoted to the Red Sox bullpen. During the postseason he rebounded with a 3-0 record and 1.86 ERA in four games, three of them starts. He was the winner in the final game of all three postseason series — American League Division Series against the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, American League Championship Series against the New York Yankees and World Series against the St. Louis Cardinals — as the Red Sox won their first World Series in 86 years. Lowe is the only pitcher in baseball history to accomplish this.

On January 11, 2005, he finalized a $36 million, four-year contract with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Controversially, Lowe wore a Boston Red Sox uniform, with his career-long number of 32, during the Red Sox World Series ring ceremony on April 11, 2005, after already pitching for theLos Angeles Dodgers.

As of the end of the 2006 season, Lowe had a career won-loss record of 100-82 with 85 saves and 3.81 ERA.

On August 31, 2005, Lowe nearly pitched the second no-hitter of his career. After giving up a leadoff single to the Cubs' Jerry Hairston, Jr., Lowe did not allow another Chicago hit, picking up a one-hit, two-walk, 7-0 complete game victory while facing only 29 batters.

Lowe is one of only 7 ballplayers who pitched in the NL in 2007 who won at least 12 games in each year from 2004-07, the others being Carlos Zambrano, Greg Maddux, Roy Oswalt, Tim Hudson, Jason Marquis, and Jeff Suppan.

On August 3, 2005 FSN West in Los Angeles announced that "Dodger Dugout" anchor Carolyn Hughes had been suspended pending an investigation into a potential relationship between her and Lowe. Shortly thereafter, the pitcher filed for divorce from his wife of seven years, Trinka Lowe, by whom he fathered two children. Hughes' husband had also filed for divorce and, as of early 2006, Lowe and Hughes were living together.

Caroline Aparecida Trentini (born July 6, 1987) is a Brazilian supermodel. She was born in Panambi, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Trentini is the youngest daughter of Lourdes and the late Jacó Trentini, who died when she was one year old. Her older sisters are Franciele and Élen. Although she had never worked before, Trentini's mother got a job as a public employee when her husband died and raised her daughters single-handedly.

At about age 13, Caroline Trentini was discovered walking down a street in her hometown by an agent, the same one who scouted supermodel Gisele Bündchen, and soon afterward she moved to São Paulo, a common destination for young Brazilian models.
